Sosta House offers a beautifully curated experience in the Willamette Valley, praised for its idyllic setting and attentive hosts. However, recent reviews highlight significant noise issues stemming from its proximity to a working winery production facility, particularly within the Loft room. The property also receives high marks for its ambiance and culinary offerings.

Our 3-night stay at Sosta House was, unfortunately, something of a mixed bag. On the plus side, the breakfasts were absolutely delicious! We also really enjoyed the wine dinner on our arrival night. On the not-so-good side, our room left much to be desired. We stayed in the Loft which, on Sosta House's website, is described as "a hidden gem" that is "secluded from the house with a private staircase and entrance." We'd come to the Willamette Valley for a bit of R&R and, as a result, some seclusion felt like just what the doctor had ordered. But, while the Loft may be secluded from the main house, what isn't mentioned anywhere on the website or indicated in the photos is that it's located directly above their winery's production facility. If you associate the word "secluded" with "peace and quiet," you're in for an unpleasant surprise! Our first night we were kept awake by what can only be described as a giant industrial fan that someone had left running down below. It was so loud that it actually felt as if our bed was vibrating. While some people might enjoy that kind of thing, our definition of "pleasure" is quite different. The fan finally went off at 5:39 am. I know because I looked. We mentioned the fan to Mia the next morning at breakfast and, thankfully, it was left off our final two nights. However, the Loft is still directly above a working production facility, with windows that look straight down into that production facility, and throughout the morning and afternoon of our stay, people were coming and going, playing music on speakers as they worked. As a result, we never really felt comfortable in the room. As soon as we'd get back from breakfast, we'd quickly get ready and head out again, not returning to the room until dark. We had really looked forward to just lingering in our room and spending time on the property during our stay, but as a result of the noise this just never felt desirable. If Sosta House had just disclosed on their website or in their pre-arrival communication with us that the Loft was on top of a working production facility, this would have all been somewhat expected and we'd feel less grounds to complain. We likely would have simply booked one of the other two rooms on the property. But, as it is, we felt quite deceived by a description that made it seem as though this room was an idyllic place to stay. It's so unfortunate because, aside from the cost, my wife and I were just really excited to stay here after reading all the wonderful reviews and perusing the website. If nothing else, I hope to make future guests aware of the reality so that they might have a better idea of what to expect when booking. ***In response to Sosta House*** Sosta House's reply feels like a masterclass in how not to respond to a negative review. Instead of simply saying, "We're sorry, we'd love if you gave us another chance," or something to that effect, we're "wasting daily opportunities to find beauty, curiosity & connection in this one precious life to instead move through the world holding onto the disappointing minutiae & promoting the most negative & critical perspective…" Wow! They continue, "Based on your many lengthy complaints of other hardworking small businesses that have served you, it seems you prefer the public online forum after the fact instead of normal, human, face to face communication in the moment." I've written over 100 reviews. Most, as can be verified by anyone, are five stars. Just because I didn't leave Sosta House five stars does not mean I'm not "normal." Most galling, though, is this insistence that we're overreacting because our room was "a little noisy." A loud, industrial fan being left on until 5:39 am is not "a little" noise. Likewise, there was no mention anywhere that the Loft is located on top of the production facility. There's a difference between staying on a working farm and the room you're staying in being located literally on top of and with windows directly onto a loud production facility. But I guess that's what we get for booking the "cheapest" room.

Yooooo I LOVE this place. I wanna give Sosta House more than 5 stars. What a beautifully curated experience. I can’t believe it’s only 30 minutes from Portland as it felt like a true getaway. The wine was wonderful. There’s so much to do! We walked the vineyard and took pictures. We played bocci ball. We listened to records. We played the guitar. We played chess. We made a fire and gazed at the stars. Also the breakfast was the icing on the cake! Mia is an incredible chef- we were freaking out over the flavors. I wanna come back next week, and the week after that. Protect Sosta House at all costs!

Sosta House is the most charming place I’ve been in a long time. The thought and care that Mia and Nico put into every inch of this space is clear. They work so hard at what they do and make rad events happen that support local artists and musicians too. 10/10 would recommend.

My wish for the world, since I don’t think world peace is an option, is that everyone gets to spend a weekend at Sosta -because I think the world would be a better place. Mia and Nico are inspiring. The winery grounds, the tasting room, the sauna, the Great Room, are absolutely beautiful. The tasting room staff were out of this world, as were the breakfasts that Mia made for us. Come find yourself, and maybe a kitten to curl up in your lap, and maybe if you’re lucky, a loaf of Kristin’s sourdough.

I stayed at Sosta House with a few friends and it was the most beautiful experience. Mia, Nico, and the whole team have created such an idyllic getaway. The house is so serene, where every detail is incredibly beautiful. The food is excellent and the thought that the team puts into hosting is incredible. There’s nothing quite like walking through their gardens and the vineyards. It’s a great way to experience the beauty of Oregon wine country. It’s truly a one of a kind experience. I wish I could have spent a whole week there!

We had an amazing stay at the Sosta House! Mia and Nico are so welcoming and made our stay very pleasant. The details are very well curated and you can tell they put a lot of thought and care into the property and our room was very clean and comfortable. We stayed for two nights and each breakfast that Mia prepared was incredibly delicious and she was thoughtful to ask of any dietary restrictions ahead of time. We enjoyed being able to use the sauna and cold plunge as well as being able to walk around the property. They were quick with communication and so kind during our entire stay. The location is great and we had easy/quick access to everything on our agenda. We can’t wait to return during summer time!
