The Fairfield Inn & Suites Portland West/Beaverton consistently receives mixed reviews, highlighting both friendly staff and fundamental operational issues. Recent feedback indicates problems with room preparation, breakfast offerings, and a lack of responsiveness from hotel staff, especially regarding guest requests and resolving problems. While some guests appreciate the location and cleanliness, other find the property dated and lacking in essential amenities.
????? The most concerning part of my stay at Fairfield by Marriott Beaverton was the breakfast area setup. The hotel provides a microwave for guests, but the cups available for beverages were clearly labeled “DO NOT MICROWAVE.” When I asked how to heat milk, I was directed to use one of those same cups despite the manufacturer’s warning being printed directly on it. If a microwave is offered, guests should be given containers that are actually intended for microwave use. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the only issue. We booked a room for three guests, yet there was no bedding prepared for the sofa bed. After calling the front desk, I had to go downstairs and collect it myself. Even basic items such as a dental kit were not stocked in the room and had to be requested separately. None of these are complicated problems. They are basic hospitality fundamentals. The fact that so many of them occurred during a one-night stay was disappointing and left a poor impression of the property.
This hotel managed to make even the simplest parts of a one-night stay unnecessarily difficult. Booked a room for three people? No bedding for the third guest. Need bedding? Go pick it up yourself from the front desk. Need a dental kit? Call and ask for it. Need drinking water? Another trip to the front desk. Then came breakfast. The hotel provides a microwave but the available cups were clearly labeled “DO NOT MICROWAVE.” When I asked how to heat milk, I was told to use those same cups anyway. If the hotel is going to provide a microwave, providing microwave-safe containers seems like the bare minimum. What makes this especially frustrating is that none of these issues are complicated. They are basic operational details that should have been handled before guests ever noticed them. As a Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite member, this stay was far below what I expected. I left with the impression that guest convenience was an afterthought. I will not be returning.
The location was perfect for me. Pretty standard Fairfield set up. Great staff. One of the friendliest, helpful staffs I've ever had a Marriott property that wasn't a high end line. They have been great.
Great safe location. Wonderful breakfast with scrambled and boiled eggs, Greek yogurt and granola bar. Awesome to come back to a pool and hit tub after a day of hiking the incredible wilderness of portland area.
Overall good location easy access to lot of options close by . Staff is very friendly and good . They helped us with our demand during our stay . Morning. Breakfast spread is very limited also don’t expect much . For 3days they had same item . Rooms are pretty ok . Thy look dated and dull
The location is quite convenient, with easy access from the US-26 exit. Front desk service was smooth throughout my stay. They acknowledged my elite status and offered a choice of welcome gift, though there was no complimentary room upgrade. The room itself is not large, and the vanity is fairly small, but both are acceptable for a short stay. Breakfast is decent and includes the standard Fairfield offerings, except for fresh-made waffles. A nice touch is that the coffee station remains available even after breakfast hours. Overall, this is a solid option for a short stay.
Had a comfortable stay here, especially loved the shower booth. Breakfast was better than expected too, despite being worried after reading the reviews. Great choice overall if you have a car.
The staff were great! Hanna who works the morning breakfast, was phenomenal! Due to a fall i have temporary mobility challenges. Without me asking she helped me with everything. She was kind and compassionate.
The hotel was clean and staff were very friendly. My only complaint is that the indoor pool was freezing cold. Breakfast was fine.
Very Nice. Very Clean. Front Desk manned by folks who " really" appreciate the consumer!!!! Breakfast very acceptable. Will continue to " book with Marriott"!!!
