I will stay here again and either take down or revise my review. I don't like making critical reviews, and don't believe in leaving them up indefinitely. If the hotel staff on site can take care of something, then we should take issues up with staff at the time. In this case, the issues are not temporary ones, so I'm writing this mostly so that management can take these feedbacks and improve future stays. Such an interesting concept!! Really beautiful brand new hotel centered around a Japanese experience, including a spacious onsen (my first time- it was a large rectangular hot tub with no bubbles, and the water wasn't as hot as a hot tub). The outdoor portion of the onsen was sadly not open during our stay-- the sign said "under construction". I'm not sure if it NEVER was open, or if it needed some improvement. I'd love to see what it even looked like. Plusses - Someone really went to lengths to make this hotel different. Interesting architecture! Lots of space in the common areas, in the onsen locker rooms, the onsens themselves. The room was good-- very clean, basic amenities. The bed was comfy, linens clean, pillows were minimal (2 total for a king bed) but comfy. Rooms heated and cooled with a mini split. Much nicer than a standard hotel room climate setup The service we had at dinner was unbelievably good! Our server's name was Aiden and was just spectacular. He helped us with sake choices and worked with us on dietary restrictions. We had maybe one of everything and the food was very good. The bathrooms have bidets. That is a first for me outside of europe. Fantastic. There is a dedicated sake bar that is gorgeous. Minuses - Sounds: Our room had a water draining sound that we think might have been the room upstairs using water in various ways. The walls and ceilings were not soundproofed enough, so that we could hear upstairs guests moving about the room, and could hear interesting sounds coming from inside the rooms as we walked down the halls. Water pressure & temperature: The room has an unbelievably nice bathroom, but we found the water to get warm, not hot. I like to wash hands in hot water, and occasionally want a shower to be hot. That was just not possible here. Also, the pressure from the rainfall showerheads was not sufficient. Just a little more and it would have been fine Toilet paper: If you have your own bidet, you know that you either go with cloth towels to dry off after, or you go with a cloth-like, multi-ply toilet paper. The toilet paper in the rooms was single ply-- just a big miss. The rooms weren't stocked with enough small towels that I would have felt OK using those and also leaving towels for facewashing and such. Random cost savings: It felt like someone spent lots on getting the hotel up, then decided to tighten spending on the "final mile" of details. I hate that it was probably a necessity for them, I assume that they spun the hotel up to accommodate nearby business that has recently significantly reduced staff. This was evidenced in the water temp, toilet paper, overall staffing levels, room-amenities (unmatching, tiny, overperfumed shampoo and conditioner). Like I said before I will absolutely spend another night here in the future. I will take this post down if it's clear that management has seen it and taken note. The hotel has a very good chance of being a gem in Hillsboro. The concept is incredible. It's pretty brand new. Many things are fantastic. But there are many things that need improvement. I hope this is helpful, and I really want this place to become a favorite of mine for staycations for years to come!

Ok, so I want to start off that we found this place for a last minute stay when we decided to go to the pinball museum a few minutes away. I started the trip excited about the pinball, but when I realized what type of hotel this was - our trip's fun factor just tripled. The cultural authenticity of this hotel is the real deal. Between the room layout (the bathroom shower and soaking tub in our room were AMAZING!!!) and the men's and women's onsen on-site makes this a place I hope to come back to in the future. The actual Japanese bidet in the room was a nice addition, especially with the instructions next to it. I am so glad we found this hotel, the rooms were very clean and the bed was super comfortable - along with good pillows. All of the staff we dealt with were professional and on the ball. This hotel is a 10/10 experience.

Hands down one of the best stays we have had in a hotel. From the friendliness of the staff to the aesthetically pleasing exterior and then you are wild by the interior. The beds are extremely comfortable, and our suggestion is get the room with the tub shower combo for it will not disappoint. Thank you Cedartree for a much needed night of rest and relaxation.

Had a great experience staying in this hotel. Something that really stood out is the staff: they are so friendly, quick and helpful. After requesting items on the room tablet, the items were delivered extremely quickly. Very impressive and fast service! Breakfast was great and the waitress was friendly. The koi pond is so nice to sit next to a watch the fish with a fresh coffee. The bed was so comfortable! The linens were fresh and crisp. We liked the feature to swing the window open for fresh air as well. Thank you Cedartree!

This hotel is beautiful. I didn’t know what to expect but chose it because of the reviews on Expedia, and thought it sounded interesting. I was intrigued so I booked it. It’s so charming Zen right when you walk in the front doors, I loved the attention to detail and theme. The baths were wonderful, the atmosphere was calm and quiet. We will revisit this one when we return in December for business.

Absolutely enjoyed the experience at this Japanese themed hotel. The rooms were clean, the property was well lit and groomed. Building is new and beds were super comfy. I would recommend staying here to experience not only a great night sleep but the Japanese bath room is a nice bonus. There is one for men and one for women, please check what an onsen is and what the etiquette are. You can also ask the front desk about this. The swimming pool was still under construction but I think it might still be too early in the season for an outdoor swim. I can see it out the window being built and it looks like it'll be a fantastic add on. Each room has a deep tub, standing shower area, and a Japanese bidet. Once you use one of those, there is literally no going back to just wipes. It's life changing. Room was very clean, including tub and bidet. Can't recommend this place enough! Will be back for sure. Price very competitive to the area as well.

The staff was amazing. The rooms offer a deep tub but the hot water was meh. There's no microwave and the mini fridge isn't good for much more than a few drinks. If you're on a work trip and all your meals aren't provided, I recommend better options.

Me and my fiancé stayed here for a self care, relaxing overnight. It’s not only a great place to stay location wise, but also has really relaxing amenities. The Onsen was incredible relaxing, and clean. The restaurant has great food, and the Sake bar was nice to visit afterwards. The atmosphere of the entire hotel was very relaxing and all the staff were incredibly friendly. The room we stay in was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was the nicest bathroom I’ve ever seen in a hotel. Highly recommend a relaxing stay here.

This hotel has ruined all future hotels for me. It’s clean, quiet, friendly, and at a safe location. Its Japanese theme is highly enjoyable and its traditional indoor bath was the highlight of the stay. The rooms have a traditional Japanese home shower/bath combination and an imported Japanese bidet toilet. They even sell Japanese snacks in the lobby. I enjoyed myself even though half of my stay was completing work in my room. In fact, I may visit the area again just so I get another chance to stay at this hotel. Want a relaxing getaway? Stay here.

I stayed one night at Cedartree and was really impressed. The property is beautifully maintained, and I loved the Japanese-inspired theme—it was such a pleasant surprise. My room smelled like a brand-new home, which made it feel especially clean and fresh. I only wish I could have checked in earlier to enjoy more of the amenities. Breakfast was excellent, and the salmon was definitely a highlight!
