Motel 6 Portland – Tigard West receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its convenient location, cleanliness, and value, particularly highlighting the friendliness and helpfulness of staff like Raul, Janet, Judith, and Bear. However, recurring concerns involve petty theft, rudeness at the front desk, issues with water pressure, dated facilities, and occasional problems with room cleanliness and maintenance.
Stayed across the road multiple times with no issues. Stayed here one weekend and someone rifled through my car and stole things. Perfect example of don't judge a book by its cover. Makes sense now why the front desk treated my husband like he was doing something wrong when he had to get our room key remade after it stopped working. Guess they have a lot of issues with petty crimes
Okay - I get that travelers are sometimes exhausted, weary, and confused. I expect front desk staff to be well-versed in hospitality and customer service, which means they should be prepared for these customers. Some people are confused more easily than others, and everybody makes mistakes. I had booked the Motel 6 across the way from this one and gone to this location by mistake, which the man dressed as a woman could have just told me - yes. I just said that. This person has definitely got the catty attitude of women correct, now maybe they can work on the other softer side all women have -the side that would not have said "Nothing you just said made sense.", then proceed to move onto another topic, talking over me and refusing to even address the fact that early check-in is advertised as free on Travelocity - Again, it isn't that I made a stupid mistake or care about the 10 dollar early check in fee - all I want is to be treated with respect by people who actually want to be at their job - if you don't want to work in hospitality don't seek it out - If you are too impatient or too smart then don't see it out! The PERSON at the front desk of this place could have made my day a lot better just by not being rude and catty and impatient. I mean, how do workers who treat guests like that get to keep their job? I'm a doctorate student studying now about leadership and professionalism and how businesses are run, so I am really curious if anyone over there has an answer.
It's exactly what you'd expect from a budget hotel. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly, & the beds, while not the most comfortable we've slept in, they weren't the worse either... comfortable enough for a one night stay. Location is convenient & close to the city. Only real draw backs were not much water pressure in the shower, the guests upstairs having heavy feet at 6am, and the distinct smell of a certain smoke when you go outside to your car (but that's just Portland these days). If your looking for a quick inexpensive room & don't need any frills, this place was a good stay.
Great place to stay. Rooms are always available and very clean. Usually pretty quiet, I have had no problems ? since I began staying there, at least once a month over the last year. Easy access to the freeway and close to a mall, so you can get what you want/need quickly. Very nice staff and good customer service.
Judith the housekeeper was honestly so amazing, she was attentive and polite and frankly just a delightful person in every interaction we had with her. Even when we felt like we were being bothersome always asking her for something be it towels or soap or even directions to a local restaurant she was just a pleasant person to deal with. And I will say I have stayed in countless motel 6 locations and this one was by far the cleanest most stress free stay I've had to date. We will be staying here every time we are in town now that's for sure! Thank you Judith!
Raul (maintenance) and Janet (housekeeping) are AMAZING! So helpful fixing anything that needs attention and Janet is SO thorough with her service. She always leaves me extra towels and trash bags because I’m here often. They are so great!
Stayed here for a short stop in the middle of a road trip, arriving late at night and leaving early in the morning. For the price, it was fair and honestly better than expected. The room was clean and quiet, with everything you need for a one-night stay. Clean towels, a good shower, vending machines, an ice maker, and very good internet connectivity were all available. In the morning, there was fresh coffee, which was a nice boost before getting back on the road. One tip: booking online through the Motel6 website is much cheaper than paying at the front desk. The front desk couldn’t match the online price, but it wasn’t a problem—the website is easy to use, and the booking process was quick and straightforward. Overall, a clean, quiet, and practical option for travelers looking for good value.
Great staff, jade made sure to clean the room very good and it made our day. Front desk people are great as well. Bear and Barry always make us feel welcomed.
Nadia and Barry are an amazing team! Great staff, simple but nice rooms! Stayed several days and plan to again in the future.
Older motel that is better than some motel 6s but needs some attention. Our toilet was clogged when we arrived and we got a plunger but it didn’t fully resolve the issue. Floor could have been cleaner and it just felt a bit dingy. Overall might have been a 4/5 if the toilet would have worked.
