The Embassy Suites Portland Hillsboro offers spacious rooms with comfortable beds and in-room amenities like a fridge and microwave. Recent reviews highlight the convenient location and pleasant staff, particularly the breakfast and evening reception. However, some guests have experienced issues with cleanliness, unexpected parking fees, and inconsistent air conditioning.
Very spacious rooms. Comfortable beds. In-room fridge and microwave. Free full breakfast buffet. Safe location outside the city. Slightly more than I wanted to spend on a room for one night, but worth it. Check-in was quick and easy. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful.
Not as described. The pool was empty- we were offered to go next door to shreks pond (no exaggeration this was a pond, green slime color) at the Hilton across the parking lot… when we first arrived the room we entered had a broken thermostat and was about 75 degrees, the entire 2nd floor hallway was stagnant and extremely humid. We called, they offered a swamp cooler, noting they are fully booked. I went down to speak with front desk and got a new room down the hot hallway, with air. Room is somewhat clean, crusty pull out couch, some mold in bath ceiling, blood stain on carpet. Very strange since the lobby is immaculate and very clean. Overpriced by a long shot- fairly quiet, nice staff but not worth the $
Very good location. Was convenient to reach the business meeting location. Entire property is well maintained. Rooms are nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable unlike most hotel beds that are very saggy. The staff was very friendly at the check in as well as in the restaurant. Breakfast had a lot of variety. The made to order items at Embassy Suites is always a great option. The only challenge was that there are no food places nearby for late night. But there are options drivable at 10-15 minute distance. Ample parking but has a daily charge.
I recently stayed at the Embassy Suites in Hillsboro, Oregon and booked my room directly through the Hilton app as a Hilton Gold member. While the hotel itself is newer and the rooms are decent, I was very frustrated upon arrival to learn there is a $12 per night parking fee. This is not a resort or downtown hotel with limited parking—it’s a regular hotel with a standard parking lot, and the property was not crowded. When I questioned the fee, the front desk staff said it was listed on the website. I went back and checked both the Hilton app and the Embassy Suites website and could not find anything clearly stating there was a parking charge. I understand $12 isn’t a huge amount, but being surprised with an extra fee at check-in is frustrating, especially when it wasn’t clearly disclosed upfront. My sister has her own room but we only had 1 share vehicle and they tried to also charge her the $12 fee, which added to the disappointment. Overall, the hotel itself is fine, but the lack of transparency around the parking fee really impacted my experience. This should be much more clearly communicated before guests arrive.
Loss of one star for the black mold on the bathroom under-mount sink that the hotel couldn't address while I was there. Hopefully they will correct it for the next guest. That said, this was an excellent choice of hotels for my needs. Great food at the bar, awesome bartender, cook to order omelets for breakfast, every staff member was friendly, helpful, and professional.
Some Gym equipment is broken. Hidden parking fees you don’t know about through Concur travel site. WiFi seems more spotty than other hotels. My main complaint is with the Cleaning staff; they tried to enter the room on my last morning even though there is a Do Not Disturb Sign on the door; I refuse to leave a final tip if you cannot follow your own signs and leave people alone before they leave. You MUST follow the sign on the door if it is not yet 11:00 check out time. Its rude behavior to enter the room! On top of this, the cleaning staff took cash from my room (I assume they thought it was a tip) even though I did not say it was a tip for them. Is clean and nice looking other than those issues. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is great. But you all need to get your cleaning staff on a shorter leash. No knocking and entering if there is the sign on the door---EVER.
Shana (waitress/bartender) made our stay so much better. The room was great-clean, plenty of power outlets, 2 TVs, plenty of comfortable seating for a meeting or guests visiting. A door to close where the bedroom connects. A separate door not thru bedroom to bathroom to keep bedroom private. Much better than the Embassy Suites near Washington Square.
On the top of our list when we are in the area. Great location, very clean. Checking in on the app is sooooo easy. Evening reception was an added bonus (2 free drinks per adult and appetizers) Room was clean, well stocked. TVs are user friendly. Will absolutely stay again. There is road noise from being near a hwy. But that's not something I would knock stars off for.
I stayed at this hotel for a couple days while visiting a friend. I had a king suite I believe. The room was very spacious and clean. The bed was super comfortable , plus the hotel was very quiet which can be real hit or miss when you travel. The breakfast service was good and offered more than most standard hotel breakfasts. I think embassy suites have become my go to hotel of choice, for their consistency of quality, service, and experience.
Pros: -Friendly staff -Nice hotel -Breakfast variety Cons: -Air conditioning was not strong enough in the entire hotel, especially our hotel room. The lowest setting was 67, but the actual room temp couldn’t get below 70. -our bathroom didn’t have a fan -bathroom needed towel hooks
