The Courtyard Portland Beaverton offers a generally positive experience with comfortable rooms, convenient location, and friendly staff. However, recent reviews highlight concerns regarding cleanliness and noise levels, particularly from nearby train tracks. While some guests appreciate the breakfast and thoughtful amenities like feather-free rooms and earplugs, others have experienced issues with dated rooms and inconsistent service.
We checked in around 9:00 PM and were surprised to find that the bar had already closed. That was a bit disappointing, as we had hoped to enjoy a drink after our drive. We had requested a high-floor room through our Bonvoy profile. While we completely understand that room requests are not guaranteed, we have been able to receive high-floor rooms at most other properties, so we were a little disappointed to be assigned a room on the lowest floor. Our room was also located very close to a side entrance, and guests coming and going late at night created some noise. The room itself felt somewhat dated and quite dark, likely because it was on the ground floor facing the courtyard. On the positive side, the hotel was able to accommodate our request for a feather-free room, which we greatly appreciated. We also requested a playpen for our child. While it was delivered to the room promptly, it was not set up for us. Most hotels we have stayed at have the playpen fully assembled before arrival, so this was a small inconvenience after a long day of travel. Fortunately, we stayed on Friday, May 22, and no trains passed by during our stay. The hotel also thoughtfully provided earplugs for guests who may be sensitive to noise. We purchased the breakfast package, and overall the breakfast was well worth the price. The only downside was the avocado toast—the relish served with it was extremely sour, making it difficult for us to eat. Overall, while there were a few disappointments, we appreciated the hotel’s efforts to accommodate our feather-free room request and enjoyed the breakfast and other thoughtful touches.
The whole place looks like it needs some more cleaning. The floors were all with dirt or crumbs or some sort of dirt on them, starting in the hallways of the entrance to the room. When we got in to the room the floor had hairs on it. The bathroom didn’t look very clean. It was not properly cleaned. There was dust around the tv in the room. It was a disappointing experience. The hotel looked so nice and modern from outside. The view from the room was nice. But the overall experience is that there is no a real interest in providing a good service for the guests. Marriott should be a synonym of excellence in the hospitality and service, but it is just a catch that places like this use to provide a terrible service under a nice name.
Staff members were professional and courteous (e.g., Monique was awesome, going above and beyond to create a wonderful guest experience). The room was well built and designed, helping ensure a quiet stay. The location was great, close to restaurants, coffee shops, and a lake!
Nice rooms, very clean. The cafe for food, breakfast and dinner, have variable hours and come at a cost. Would be nice to have free coffee in the lobby. Fitness center is nice, no pool or hot tub. $10 to park at night, not sure why that's a thing.
Great spot, if you’re already in the area and link up with a date or something spontaneous. Definitely beats a motel 6.. plus there is endless possibilities in the area. Not a far uber ride anywhere. (Shout out motel 6 tho)
This is a nice hotel central to the area. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Not a big fan of having to sign up as a member to get free wifi which is the only reason for four stars for service. It is next to a light rail and they provide earplugs but I stayed twice in one month and did not hear anything. You may have to be a real light sleeper to be bothered by it. All in all, I would stay there again.
We stayed here for a 3 day vacation in the area. Both my husband and I enjoyed this hotel. I really appreciated the new room layout, with the addition of a full couch, so that we had someplace to sit and watch TV and/or eat. The cafe in the lobby was nice and the staff was very pleasant to talk with while ordering. Bonus is Starbucks coffee! We were aware of the trains and the gal at check-in moved us to a room on the other side of the hotel, without us asking. We heard nothing! We will stay here again, when visiting.
I stayed here with my partner for a weekend, front desk staff Erica was just fantastic and delightful. She listens and was compassionate with customers especially when I made a comment about how Marriott is screwing loyal customers. She was totally being understanding. Impressive, a huge contrast to Marriott corporate.
Tucked away in a business park area, but near everything and includes plenty of parking. Staff was helpful and courteous during our entire stay. Priced at a good rate, I would stay again amd recommend to others.
Absolutely amazing staff! Wonderful service and atmosphere. Second time staying at this location in 2 years. Not 1 bad thing to say. Shout out to Melissa! Her and the staff went above and beyond everyday! Thank you all! - Vanessa
