The Holiday Inn Portland - I-5 S (Wilsonville) receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising cleanliness and friendly staff, while others highlight significant operational issues, unpleasant odors, and poor management. Recent reviews suggest improvements in customer service and room quality, but ongoing concerns about facility maintenance and front desk efficiency persist.
Nobody wants to do their jobs anymore. I called to inquire about early check-in so that my 2-year-old can finish a nap. Automated phone system asks if you want reservations or front desk, so I pick front desk. It transfers me to someone who asks my confirmation number and then says "oh actually you need the front desk, let me transfer you!" Which is what I selected in the first place. So they transfer me. I waited on hold for a half hour, long enough to literally ARRIVE at the hotel from the airport. The parking lot is completely empty. I walk into the front desk STILL ON HOLD and the lady casually walks up drinking her water bottle, no phones ringing, and tells me oh actually you'll have to wait another hour because the rooms aren't ready they've been too busy (with who? The lot is empty?). She also has no explanation for why the number to the front desk isn't even ringing, "maybe it's ringing the back phone?" - Well, could you check? Just zero work ethic or critical thinking going on at this hotel. The rooms could be furnished in solid gold, I wouldn't book it again simply because of the customer service experience which was one of the worst I've ever experienced.
I’m rating 5 based on price and the room and facilities being as expected for that as well as great service. We booked third party and didn’t realize there was not a microwave in the room so they sent one over within minutes of asking. We realized one more mistake (our fault in booking) and Alexander fixed that immediately as well even though he wasn’t obligated. The breakfast was excellent. It’s $14 if paying separately if you don’t get a room that includes it but you can prepay $7 at the desk instead. (As of Jan 2026). I’ve included photos (actually I can’t figure out how to add photos. Haha) because we weren’t able to find them before on reviews. It was all tasty and a step above regular hotel breakfast for sure with thicker bacon and sausage and cheesy eggs. Plenty of protein options. Yogurt and fresh fruit. If I could request one change I would request a plain or lower carb yogurt option included.
Extremely disappointing stay – terrible odor throughout. The entire hotel corridor and the room smelled incredibly bad,it was so strong that it was honestly hard to breathe. While the room itself didn't look dirty, there was a persistent, unpleasant odor that made the entire stay very uncomfortable. I am very disappointed as this is the worst quality I have ever experienced at a Holiday Inn. The only redeeming qualities were the free parking and the convenient location near a gas station and several shops. I would not recommend staying here.
We stayed here for two nights with myself and my grandparents for the holidays. The rooms and entire building itself are very well cared for. Every staff member has been very kind and helpful. Laura at the front desk is very welcoming and insightful. Jarred working at the restaurant, Boone Town, was such a delight in the morning. Very generous and helpful and a great sense of humor with amazing customer service. Thank you to all!??
Nice clean rooms, this HI has been updated recently. Has a restaurant attached, indoor pool and fitness center. Easily access right off of I-5 in Wilsonville however close proximity to freeway lends to a lot of road noise.
My "work" put me up at this Holliday inn. Breakfast wasn't included in the overpriced room. I went into the cafeteria, a waitress was there,I asked for a order of biscuits and gravy and a glass of Orange juice. (It wasn't very good). The bill was OUTRAGEOUS $24.00 This place is NOT for the working class man or couple. I will NEVER stay at a Holliday inn. And the room needs repairs. Little things like the bathroom doors look like they are from the 1970s complete with facia damage.
Absolutely disgusting pool! I had to scoop out hair six times. Bed was comfortable but room smells a bit. Breakfast was average. Run out of some items at 9:30am, although replenished after 15 minutes or so. Garbage near the elevator piled up and no one tried to empty it. Exterior entrances were all not functioning so we had to walk a big circle to get to our room from the inside. We would choose to do exercise on our own terms, not having to be forced by the malfunction of the keypad entry. The poor front desk young man was running like a chicken with head cut off, and he was only on duty for two weeks. He shared with me that everyone was quitting recently, that’s probably why the place is so poorly maintained and managed. One of the worst hotels we have ever stayed. Stay away from this one!
Great customer service. Was there for a play and stay for soccer and they were able to accommodate all of us and made sure we felt taken care of. Only downside is that microwaves are needing to be asked for but they have one in the lobby and they can bring one to your room if available. Other than that everything is very good. Pool is clean and so is the fitness center. Laundry room has multiple machines so not having to wait is nice.
I have been here for 4 days and I have one more day to go before I leave to go home. So far my stay is horrible. My daughter I are both disabled and we were given a room that we had to walk to that were far away from the elevator and everything else. Also this was our first time here and we were not told about any of the amenities. If I needed anything I had to used my cell phone because the phone in the room was not working and I told the front desk twice on different days about the phone. I called and asked if there was a complementary breakfast, the girl just said NO, I said “Well I guess I have to DoorDash it “ and she didn’t say anything so I thank her. She didn’t tell me about the restaurant. The Maintenance Man was the one who told me about the restaurant, the gym, and the pool. He even told me the hours of the restaurant. The only staff that was friendly to me were the guy cleaning the rooms, the maintenance man. The guests who are staying here were more friendly than the staff. Hopefully next time I’m in Wilsonville, I can find a better place to stay where the staff makes sure their guests have a wonderful and enjoyable stay.
This is an older location but the rooms are nice. They forgot to update the hallways as they are kind of nasty and old. The staff is very kind and every one of them has greeted me with a smile and a hello. This is worth the stay. Hopefully they update everything else on the next update. Make the hallways feel more inviting and nicer. These hallways are a little ghetto.
