The Hilton Garden Inn – Portland/Beaverton receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising the friendly staff and convenient location. However, recurring issues include inconsistent service, cleanliness concerns, and problems with hotel facilities like elevators and lack of responsiveness from management. A significant number of guests reported issues with breakfast offerings and a lack of attention to detail in room maintenance. Notably, several reviews cite incidents of lost property and a lack of support from hotel staff, leading to a generally disappointing experience.
Hospitality is amazing. But the best part about my stay was Brian in the bar. I haven’t wanted to make sure I stay someone because of the service of a person, but Brian has completely made my trip and experience outstanding…Brain definitely needs a raise an so much recognition. Thank you sir for the hospitality and the great service
1) Complimentary Breakfast is false advertisement. Cereal and bagels for free, everything else is $15. Doesn’t look great and you can go out for a great breakfast for $15/person. 2) Pictures show a pool but does not exist. 3) King suite floor plan felt congested with bathroom in middle of room and door swings into traffic. 4) AC machine was very loud over night. 5) Saving grace of hotel is the gym. Above average hotel gym. There are many hotels in this area. Given ample options, recommend going elsewhere.
Mosana was my server! She was very sweet and helpful. Great service, great food. Julius at the front desk was also helping me figure out my payment situation, very helpful as well!! Would stay here again!
I just checked out in tears. I stayed in this hotel for a few nights, I had to extend my reservation and they had to put me in another room. Unfortunately, I left my jewelry box in the room I previously stayed in. As soon as I noticed my jewelry box was missing I went downstairs to inform the front desk. They couldn’t do anything for me because house keepers were gone for the day, and a guest had already checked in. The girl in the front desk said they couldn’t do anything until the next day (my jewelry box wasn’t on plain sight, but it wasn’t hidden either) I hate to point fingers, I have a feeling the house keeper took my jewelry box. My jewelry box went missing in a matter of hours, and I understand is my fault for not being careful, but. I thought house keepers are supposed to clean everything after each guest leaves, and return whatever is left to lost and founds. Seems like someone in this hotel lacks of honesty, and it’s sad, because I like to think I’m safe and my belongings are safe in the property. I did make a police report, and most likely nothing is going to happen.
Pretty convenient location, close to cheaper gas, right next to a gym and minutes from Hillsborough tygard all that. I do LOVE their curtain/blinds set up, the way it is there's no middle gap between curtains letting light in, and its black out for the most part, dosnt seal completely so it wont be pitch black, but for someone who usually brings blankets to cover the windows wherever I stay, I really appreciate the design, literally my ONLY complaint was that for some reason on our second day they shut all the double doors thru the hotel, and our room was right next to one on our floor and they are NOT quiet, 5 am your gonna be up all morning hearing people coming and going with the doors slamming, couldnt figure out how to prop it open either, oh and theres a surprise 50$ fee at check in that drops off after check out not sure why that wasnt made more clear during booking but also not the biggest deal... I will give them a shout out tho for hosting the special Olympics that was pretty cool to find out! Pretty decent rooms, they have a breakfast option in the morning and food stuff to buy downstairs but its pretty spendy as most hotels are with that.
I recently stayed at this location and ate at the restaurant/bar. The Chef, Brain, made a phenomenal Salmon fish and chips plate. It was so good, the batter had the perfect texture and the salmon was so flavorful and moist. Probably the best fish and chips I have had to-date. Complements to Chef Brian.
Spacious and bright room. There is no pool. Free parking. Gym was very clean. Safe to stay for families. The whole time we stayed here,we did not smell any unpleasant smell(smoking cigarettes/marijuana),that is nice if you have kids with you. All workers here were very nice and thoughtful. Thank you.
During our stay, no staff member checked in to see whether we needed fresh towels, housekeeping, or any room service. We felt completely unattended throughout our visit. The breakfast experience was especially disappointing. Although breakfast was charged separately, the options were extremely limited for us. Nearly all items in the buffet contained ham, pork, or beef, with no consideration for guests who do not eat meat. The only items available to us were bread and butter. When I raised this concern with the staff member present in the breakfast area, she simply said, “I apologize,” without offering any meaningful alternative. Later, we were served what appeared to be leftover cheese omelette from the previous day. There were no basic options such as pancakes, waffles, or boiled eggs — items that are commonly available even at small motels. Additionally, the absence of a swimming pool was another letdown. Overall, the service, food quality, and amenities did not meet even basic expectations. Based on this experience, I would not consider staying at Hilton Garden Inn again. I sincerely hope you take this feedback seriously and make improvements to ensure better service and inclusivity for future guests.
I am new to this sales territory. Found a great spot to call my home base here in Portland. Great conversation and people hanging out at the restaurant and bar. Brian the bartender was awesome to interact with. You can tell he loves what he does. He called many customers by their first name and made sure the customer was happy. Will definitely be hanging out here more on business travel
My car was hit in their parking lot and they did not want to accept any responsibility. It was a hit and run. They admitted that there are no cameras anywhere in the exterior of the property. The hotel appears inviting on first impression but you begin to notice that the hotel is almost empty. To note, this is a very busy area and all the other hotels are booked. The manager, Paula, is not helpful in the least. After acknowledging the damage to my vehicle, she did not offer anything in the way of points, or even a partial stay credit. The hotel is very expensive yet dated and the back parking area is filthy. There is trash and dog feces everywhere. We noted this after observing the premises before we left. I will never stay in another Hilton hotel again. I was a Diamond tier member. I am canceling my membership permanently. There are much nicer and newer hotels in the area for a fraction of the price of this outdated Hilton hotel. Experiencing damage to my car was distressing and the fact that they showed no concern whatsoever added to the disappointment and frustration at a hotel where you would expect to be treated with interest and concern, none of which I experienced at this location. DO NOT STAY HERE. IT IS NOT WORTH IT.
