This America's Best Value Inn & Suites in Forest Grove offers budget-friendly accommodations, but experiences are inconsistent. Recent reviews highlight cleanliness issues and operational problems, including room flooding and staff unresponsiveness. While some guests appreciate the Jacuzzi rooms and reasonable price, significant concerns remain regarding the property's condition and service.
First room was a non smoking on the first floor and you could see the smoke on the walls. It was so smelly. They thankfully moved us but that wasn't the end of it. Moved to 2nd room. Smelled better thought everything was fine until we used the bathroom for the first time and it flooded. Come to find out. They had a note on that room saying it does that yet still put us in there anyways. The 3rd shift lady and 1st shift lady helped us but the graveyard person needs a new job. Had my wife spend over n hour digging thru their janitor closets looking for a freaking plunger. Dont stay here if you can help it.
Fantastic experience with the Jacuzzi in the room, really great feature to a fair priced room at around $100/night. Wifi was on the fritz for some reason so had to use my phone hotspot but staff was polite and attentive and overr all a great stay.
There is no breakfast or internet. Stopped here on a business trip for the purpose of downloading some files needed for work and catching some much needed rest. Was unable to connect to the internet. The front desk was clueless, rude, couldn’t help, refused to put me in touch with anyone that could and, hung up on me. If I hadn’t just worked a 12 hour day I would have requested a refund and left.
Nice enough, and perfect for the price. Let's be honest, you didn't come here for the amenities. It's reasonably clean and the lowest price in town. Best Value.
We stayed at America's Best Value Inn around mid October. We picked this location as we came from Canada for my best friend's wedding. My gf and I selected the Jacuzzi room and were excited about being able to come back after the wedding and relax in the tub! Unfortunately we weren't able to get the room we paid for in advance. I guess the owner has a friend that stays sometimes and he chose to extend his stay an extra night and he was in that room. So we missed out on the opportunity to enjoy it. The room we were given instead was standard. I realize they were just doing the best they could given the circumstances. We felt the staff there were very apologetic and we knew their hands were tied.
Absolutely the WORST customer service any where. No one was on the property, no one answered the phone. The front desk lady came driving in 45 mins after we stood there waiting. The had major attitude telling us excuses after excuses. The was setup by the American Red Cross and were told we had empty rooms that are clean but we can not let you check into them because house keeping has to check them again. Called non emergency to come do a welfare check on employees since no one was at desk or answering phone. Also refused to give any contact information to talk to owners. I WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMEND!!!
Very dated rooms. We turned down the first “non smoking” room that smelled of old cigarettes and possibly mold in the carpet. Carpet through out is dated. The bed we slept in was old and sagged a bit. The sink faucet is severely corroded. The location was convenient for our event at McMennamins Grand Lodge.
Greta service, rooms are dated but very clean, staff was nice, Beds were clean and rooms smelt good.
Our room is on the 2nd floor. Checked in about 7pm. There were 2 guys sitting on the carpet in the hallway and chatting. Felt sketchy and weird. Sounds like they went to back their room or somewhere around 10 pm because we couldn't hear their voice anymore. We thought just giving a heads-up for the front desk via a room phone. But the phone doesn't have any info ( picture #1). Also, there is no note in our room. The chair looks dirty ( picture #2) The water pressure of the shower is great. Another weird thing is that bathroom light turned off for a minute while taking a shower. Room lights were ok during this happened. Maybe moisture caused this? The front desk was nice and friendly, the price was cheap but we won't stay here again. A big reason we thought that way was strangers hanging for a long time at the nallow hallway is just sketchy and felt unsafe.
My boyfriend booked a room for us for March 25, 2025. When we arrived, we found the front desk unattended, and there was quite a large gathering by the swimming pool with numerous men, loud music, and plenty of beer. While observing the scene, we noticed one man leave the pool area and come to check us in at the front desk. He handed us the key to room 215, which was clean and spacious. After checking the room out, we went back down to retrieve our belongingsfrom the car, only to find the front desk attendant back in the pool area, partying with a beer in hand. This felt quite unprofessional for someone who should be working, so it made me wonder if this might be a family-run establishment.
