Recent reviews for the Aloft Hillsboro-Beaverton indicate a mixed experience, with some praising modern amenities and helpful staff, while others highlight significant operational issues like TV malfunctions, slow elevators, and confusing parking procedures. Cleanliness concerns, particularly regarding mold and stains, have also been raised, alongside issues with breakfast service and staff responsiveness during service requests.
So many other hotels nearby. Do NOT pick this one. I only booked this room so I could take a break from a long drive, get a little sleep, and watch the NBA Finals and World Cup games. But what they didn't tell me when I checked in, is that none of the TVs in the hotel were working. And no channels were available the entire time I was there. That's kind of a bait and switch scam. And something they absolutely need to tell you before you pay for your room (or at least give an automatic partial refund after). And to add insult to injury, the elevators were painfully slow (one wasn't even working most of the time), and as I departed from my disappointing stay, I found a parking ticket on my car... Apparently, guests of this awful place don't even get free parking. They want you to pay $20 a night! (But don't even bother telling you that when you check-in). Total scam. Avoid at all costs!
Hard to beat these amenities. Forgot to take more pics, but the interiors are great. Freshly remodeled in the past year. Wxyz Bar is a great place to hang especially if there’s live local music. Food & drinks are really good. Anyone can stop by and enjoy. Rooms are awesome, pool area and the patio are great!
My breakfast order was a disaster. First the coffee wasn’t there and took 10 minutes to brew. I ordered waffles and a cinnamon bun. The chef couldn’t find the waffles so the chef asked what I wanted. I asked for the OG Bacon Lettuce and Tomato. After a while he gave me a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuits. I said, no I wanted the OG Bacon Lettuce and Tomato and read off the ingredients. 10 minutes later he gave me a sausage, bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit. I said, that’s not what I wanted. I showed him a photo of the item from the menu. “Ooh that.” A few minutes later he said he couldn’t find any roasted tomatoes. I said, leave them off. I finally received the OG. Tasty. I the asked about the cinnamon bun I ordered. He either forgot about it or didn’t see it. So more wait. It arrived without the toppings. Fine, I don’t need them. But it was half cold and tasted like hints of burnt electronics. I couldn’t finish it. So my paid breakfast took an hour. I don’t blame the chef. I blame the management who but him in the position unprepared to do the job.
Solid hotel experience! The staff were great, the rooms were ginormous and comfortable, very modern furniture and place, and the location is great! The room we got in the 5th floor was big and awesome! The beds were comfortable to sleep on, the shower pressure was great, and the views were pretty decent viewing the outskirts of the city. The place itself was very modern with its lighting, furniture, and ambiance feel of the hotel. Elevators in good condition, place was clean, and location is great in a quiet area with a 15 minute drive to the convention center. Overall, highly recommend this hotel for a stay near the convention center!
I was super impressed with this hotel. Great staff, super helpful and kind. I really liked the layout and 1st level hang out area. We travel a lot and stay at a lot of hotels and this one is top of the list for a standard style hotel. I also like that there was a kitchen to order food and good selection of other foods. Highly recommend.
Average room. Layout is a bit odd with not a lot of seating, but cozy and quiet. Credit machine wasn't working so I couldn't purchase anything without charging to my room or cash, which was mildly inconvenient.
This is my 3rd stay at an aloft brand hotel. I really love how they all are modern and clean. The rooms are well laid out and have what you need for a stay. I really loved the location of this one in between Hillsboro and Beaverton. Great to be across from a park too. Will stay again.
Quiet and clean neighborhood. Two King Beds which is great for my family. Food area is a little unorthodox (or at front desk, pick up at window) but it’s fine. Not enough outlets in the room.
I want to recognize Carlie for her outstanding service during our stay. She was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Her attentiveness made our experience truly memorable. Associates like Carlie are the reason we keep coming back—thank you for having such a wonderful team!
What a Bizarre hotel! We drove around the building, trying to find the guest entrance / front desk. Ended up in the below grade parking garage with locked doors to the building, and attempted to gain access with a phone, but no one answered. Back in the car to drive around the property, and finally saw a sign that said "Check In" (or something- it isn't show in the Google Street view so I can't remember the exact wording. So, I suspect it's a new sign they were forced to put up because otherwise, it was very hard to see/find where to go.) The guest entrance to get to the front desk has no "check-in parking." Instead, I had to make a U-turn on a busy avenue so I could parallel park on the side street closest to the entrance that I finally found. I've NEVER stayed at a suburban hotel that didn't have a drive up guest entrance to the front desk / check-in area. Apparently, we're supposed to think it's "normal" to park on the street (if available) to Walk-up stairs and inside a building that isn't clearly marked, hoping to find where to check-in. After finally doing so, and being re-directed to go scan a QR code to park with a $10 fee, we decided it was WAY too much hassle, and left. Frankly- it was easier to simply drive home, than endure the ridiculousness of this property. If you want to welcome road-weary guest for a stay at your hotel, why would you put every possible obstacle in the way to check-in?!? I will NEVER stay at an A--loft (Aloft?) property again, despite being a regular Marriott customer. I was greatly annoyed at the phrase, "Breakfast is available here in the morning for a fee...." What?!? no free breakfast? Well, guess what- McDonald's (and lots of other places) make breakfast available for a fee. And what's with putting the public restrooms 100 yards from the front door? I had to pee, and didn't appreciate having to hunt down a restroom nowhere NEAR the front desk. This has to be the worst check-in experience I've ever had at any hotel. We gladly paid for a room that we didn't use (I didn't bother even SEEING the room), simply because it was beyond bizarre to figure out how this place worked. Never again.
